It is estimated that nearly 2000 fires in Europe are caused by the misuse of cigarette lighters by children. This step against cigarette lighters could spark a number of new laws against many attractive novelties that have been misused.
It is proving to be not such good times for the cigarette industry in whole, and everything involved with cigarettes, like cigarette lighters are being scrutinized lately. At the moment there are continuous talks regarding cigarette tax hikes, and new tax laws. Cigarette manufacturers at the moment are eagerly waiting how these factors will affect sales, and even more so cigarette smokers will be waiting what affect it will have on prices of cigarettes and the availability of cigarettes to them.
The main problem with the cigarette lighters is that they appeal to children because of the colors, and new styling and attractive shapes.
